What to include
Send a concise pitch or editorial description, contributor names and roles, complete credits, relevant links, publication history if applicable, and a representative selection of images or a secure gallery. Do not send unnecessary sensitive personal information.
Ownership and permission
You retain ownership of material you submit unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. By submitting, you confirm that you are authorized to do so and that the material does not unlawfully infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, contractual or other rights.
You are responsible for obtaining the contributor permissions, model releases, location permissions and third-party licenses reasonably required for the proposed publication and promotion. We may request evidence of those rights.
Publication license
A submission email alone does not transfer copyright. If material is accepted, the scope of any permission to edit, publish, archive, distribute or promote it must be established by the applicable written acceptance, release, license or contributor agreement. Exclusivity, embargoes, fees and usage limits apply only when confirmed in writing.
Editing and credits
Accepted work may be edited for length, clarity, grammar, layout, accessibility, search presentation and house style without changing its essential meaning. Contributors must supply accurate names and credits before publication. We will consider reasonable credit corrections but cannot guarantee third-party platforms will update cached or shared copies.
AI-generated material
Disclose materially AI-generated or synthetic text, images, audio or video at submission. Do not submit synthetic media that imitates a real person without appropriate authorization or that could mislead readers about a documentary event. Undisclosed synthetic material may be rejected or removed.
Compensation, products and expenses
Publication is not an agreement to pay a fee, reimburse production costs, return products or provide advertising value. Any compensation, gifted-product arrangement, return requirement or expense approval must be agreed in writing before costs are incurred.
Withdrawal and removal
Contact us promptly if rights change or material must be withdrawn before publication. After publication, removal is not automatic and will be assessed against contractual obligations, editorial integrity, legal rights and the public record.
